On the Seventh Day of Christmas

We have been given SIX days of gifts so far! Let’s review what we’ve learned so far.

Day 1: Partridge in a Pear Tree

Now we are in Day7: Seven Swans Swimming, which there is some disagreement about what exactly this gift is. Some believe that it is meant to be the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, others think that it was originally meant to be the seven sacraments. Either way, I want o place a caveat for myself here. This sing was around in the middle ages as a learning tool, which means it was in vogue when Europe was almost all Catholic. I am not Catholic; I’ve grown up in Baptist churches, so terminology is different from what I’m accustomed to, and as a Baptist we only have two sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Since there are two lists, I plan to share the both.
